Sandusky, Ohio Travel Guide

Complete Vacation, Recreation and Tourism Information

When people think of Sandusky, Ohio, roller coasters at Cedar Point and Lake Erie come to mind, however, Sandusky also offers a historic downtown section with architecture reminiscent of the early 1900's. Golf, swimming, fishing and boating are all available along the beaches of Lake Erie.

Sandusky is best known for Cedar Point, a colossal amusement park with some of the highest and fastest roller coasters in the country. The park has fifteen coasters, and also offers live entertainment and a nighttime laser show. A water park and wave pool, Soak City sits next door offering a cool down from the summer sun.

Other options are present for visitors looking to get away from the fast pace of roller coasters and water parks. A stone's throw from Sandusky, are small towns like Milan and Bellevue, where a historical cornucopia awaits. Milan is the birthplace of Thomas Edison, and Bellevue is the site of Historic Lyme Village?a preserved town of log cabins, shops and schoolhouses from the 19th century. After a morning of history, an afternoon of biking or walking awaits on the Milan Canal Bikeway.

Sandusky is accessible via I-80 and I-90 to the north, as well as U.S. 250 and is located along the shores of Lake Erie in northern Ohio.
