Sprawling for a hundred mile stretch along the shore of Lake Erie, the Cleveland metro area is clearly a big urban center, but with little effort visitors will find miles of city park trails, lake-side beaches and a well-rounded assortment of museums and sporting events.
The Delaware River in New York is a great getaway for the whole family. The river is just 90 minutes outside New York City and situated between the beautiful Pocono and Catskill Mountains. Along with the rafting you can also fish for smallmouth bass and many other types of fish. This river is a member of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System and has been nominated for the 2007 New Jersey Governor’s Tourism Award. It is also the longest free-flowing river in the northern part of New England.
The rapids on this river are quite tame but still can be a lot of fun. The river is a class I to II with lots of pools and eddies in between for swimming, sunbathing and fishing. The guiding company you choose for this river will choose which of the four different segments you will go on. The segments all range from six to ten miles and will all offer a great day of leisurely rafting.
The Delaware River is especially well suited for families with young children since the minimum age requirement for this river is only 5 years old. Take the family out into the country for some great fun, relaxation, and some vitamin D from the sun.
