Description

From the time of his birth in 1857 until he embarked on a political career that would win him the two highest offices in the nation, William Howard Taft lived here, surrounded by family and what his mother called "inspiration to everything that was good."

Hours:

The site is open seven days a week from 8:00 am. to 4:00 p.m. Closed January 1,Thanksgiving Day, and December 25.

Guided Tours of the Taft House are every thirty minutes starting on the hour and half hour. The last guided tour of the day is at 3:30 p.m.

Basic Directions

The Taft house is in the Mount Auburn section of Cincinnati. From I-71N, take Exit 2 (Reading Road and Eden Park Drive). Stay in right lane; turn left at first stoplight onto Dorchester Avenue, and go to the top of the hill. Turn right on Auburn Avenue and go 1 ½ blocks to the site.

From I-71S, take Exit 3 (Taft Road). Go 0.75 mile to Auburn Avenue. Turn left and go 0.5 mile to the site. Follow signs to designated parking areas.
