What is considered the "Western Reserve" section of Ohio, just west of the eastern suburbs of Cleveland is a gorgeous spot for getting away from a busy tourist atmosphere. It contains Holden Arboretum, the largest arboretum in the U.S., with over 3,000 acres of gardens, trees and bird life. Several state parks are also housed among the three counties that make up the reserve, including Punderson, West Branch and Pymatuning State Parks.
